SFF Services Ltd scoops environmental award at Total E&P UK’s SHE Awards

Two Marine Mammal Observers employed by SFF Services Ltd have scooped a prestigious safety, health and environment (SHE) award from oil giant Total E&P UK.

Duncan Gray and Moira Moore received their award in the ‘Protecting the Environment’ category at the recent Total E&P UK SHE Awards at the Marcliffe Hotel, Aberdeen, in recognition of the high level of professionalism and dedication they showed as part of the oil company’s Laggan-Tormore development project.

SFF Services attains ISO 9001 certification

SFF Services Limited, the commercial division of the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation, has had its Quality Management System certified as conforming to the ISO 9001:2008 standard, underlining its commitment to delivering first class customer service.

The scope of certification, provided by DNV Business Assurance, includes the provision of marine services to offshore industries.

John Buchan takes up new role with SFF Services

SFF Services Ltd has appointed John C Buchan to the role of Marine Assurance Officer in a move that will provide crucial support to the company’s Operations Team.

John is a well-known figure in the Scottish fishing industry having previously been skipper of the Peterhead registered pelagic/white fish trawler Sparkling Star. More recently, John was fishing master on board the fisheries research vessel Scotia, a role which carried many health and safety responsibilities.

Exemplary fishing industry guard vessel safety performance is rewarded

Petrofac Energy Development Ltd has donated £10,000 to the Scottish Fishermen’s Trust in recognition of the contribution made by SFF Services Ltd in ensuring the safe development of two of its North Sea oilfields.

For over a year SFF Services provided continuous guard vessel services for Petrofac during the construction phase of its Don Southwest and West Don Development Project without any safety incidents reported.
